JNBridge Releases Faster Version of JNBridgePro with Important New Features
JNBridgePro Now Includes Calls from Java to .NET and Significant Performance Improvements
BOULDER, CO, November 8, 2002—JNBridge, LLC, announced today the availability of a new version of JNBridgePro, a Java/.NET interoperability tool for software developers, that includes “one-and-a-half-way” bridging through implicit calls from Java to .NET, and speed improvements that increase performance by as much as four times.
JNBridgePro is a Java—Microsoft .NET interoperability tool that enables the calling of Java classes from .NET as if Java were a .NET supported language. JNBridgePro supports J2SE or J2EE and the leading J2EE application servers, allowing .NET code to access J2EE facilities including EJBs and JNDI.
The “one-and-a-half-way” bridging capabilities included in the just-released version of JNBridgePro expand the previous one-way bridge of enabling the developer to make explicit calls from .NET to Java, and allow implicit calls from Java to .NET using callbacks. Callbacks enable both the Java side and the .NET side to capture events that occur on the Java side. This solution is the best fit for current Java/.NET interoperability needs, as existing Java code can be easily incorporated into new .NET applications without alterations to the Java code, and the Java side maintains its portability and standards conformance.
“JNBridgePro is a first rate product with great support,” said Philip H. Clem, co-founder of a financial software company. “JNBridge handled everything I needed to support using a Java based real time market data feed from C# .NET. That included creating the .NET assemblies with all required proxies, providing the ability to use callbacks from market data record/field level subscriptions, and all the data type mapping support required to retrieve information from the market data feed. I’m up and running.”
Another developer says “I’ve rebuilt against the latest version, and agree with you—it does benchmark significantly faster, running more than four times as fast with my application.”
About JNBridgePro
The Java/.NET interoperability capabilities of JNBridgePro enable software development teams to leverage their existing Java investments as they pursue new .NET initiatives, and to save substantial development resources in building applications that span both architectures.
JNBridgePro is available in two versions: SE (Standard Edition) and EE (Enterprise Edition). The SE version works with J2SE and can run in a standalone JVM, while the EE version supports J2EE and can be integrated with any J2EE application server.
Free, full-featured evaluation copies of JNBridgePro SE and EE are available for download from the JNBridge web site, www.jnbridge.com.
