JNBridge Delivers Two New Versions of JNBridgePro
Standard and Enterprise Editions Target J2SE and J2EE Platforms
BOULDER, CO, August 9, 2002—JNBridge, LLC announced today the availability of two new versions of JNBridgePro: a Standard Edition (SE) and an Enterprise Edition (EE). JNBridgePro is the interoperability tool for software developers that bridges the gap between the two principal application development platforms: Sun Microsystems’ Java and Microsoft’s .NET (pronounced “dot net”) framework. JNBridgePro EE enables enterprise-level integration and the creation of scalable, distributed applications, whereas JNBridgePro SE is accessibly priced for desktop and simple server applications.
JNBridgePro EE enables software engineers to develop and deploy distributed applications that work across the Microsoft .NET platform and the leading Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application servers, including BEA’s WebLogic, IBM’s WebSphere, and JBoss. JNBridgePro EE allows .NET code to access J2EE facilities, including Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs), the Java Naming Directory Interface (JNDI), and Java servlets.
With the same core functionality and a more accessible price, JNBridgePro SE enables the creation of smaller-scope distributed applications that incorporate the Microsoft .NET platform and the Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE).
Pricing and Availability
Free, full-featured evaluation copies of JNBridgePro SE and JNBridgePro EE are available for download from the JNBridge web site, www.jnbridge.com. Pricing and licensing information is also available on the web site, and the products may be purchased online.
About JNBridgePro
JNBridgePro is a Java to Microsoft .NET interoperability tool that enables software developers to quickly and seamlessly access Java classes from .NET as if Java were a .NET-supported language. Its capabilities give software development teams the opportunity to pursue new .NET initiatives while preserving and reusing their existing Java investments. Developers can build both Java and .NET versions of their applications that share a common Java code base, thereby speeding time to market and decreasing development and maintenance costs. JNBridgePro does not require or need any changes to the Java software, which enables the Java code to retain its cross-platform portability and conformance to Java standards.
Through a simple-to-use yet powerful application, the developer can explore the interfaces and functionality of available Java classes to determine which should be exposed to .NET. JNBridgePro automatically finds all the supporting classes necessary to allow full use of the Java classes, and generates proxies that expose the Java classes’ functionality and enable full implementation inheritance. The resultant class-level interoperability enables full implementation inheritance, the transparent handling of Java object lifecycle management, and exception handling.
